As a Laboratory Technician at Orient Corporation of America, you will play a crucial role in performing laboratory tests to determine the chemical and physical characteristics of solid or liquid materials for purposes such as quality control or process control. Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, adjust, and operate laboratory equipment and instruments such as agitators, balance scales, spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, pH meters, sonicators, auto titrators, tox machines, ovens, desiccators, vacuum pumps, and other equipment following approved procedures. 
  • Test samples of manufactured products to verify conformity to specifications. 
  • Test purchased raw material at the request of other OCA elements. 
  • Record test results and write test reports. 
  • Prepare graphs and charts. 
  • Clean laboratory equipment. 
  • Calibrate laboratory instruments. 
  • Prepare chemical solutions according to standard formulas. 

Qualifications:

  • Be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • A degree in chemistry or a related field is a plus. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical industry is a plus.
  • A strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety protocols is highly desirable.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow standard operating procedures precisely.
  • Willing to learn new procedures and follow processes.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret.
  • Excellent record-keeping and report-writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Familiarity with quality control and assurance processes is a plus.
